Frequently Asked Questions
1. How does your pricing work?
Albany Home Cleaning offers a timed cleaning service. See our published cleaning rates. Our standard pricing is typical for a 2,000 square foot house, depending on the frequency you would like your home cleaned. If your home is larger than 2000 square feet, your price can be adjusted based on how large your home is, how many people living in your home, how many pets you have, and how often you would like your home cleaned.
2. How do I know how many hours I need a cleaner in my house?
Typically, one cleaner can clean 1,000 square feet in a little over an hour, depending on the pre-existing cleanliness of the house. For example, if your home is 3,500 square feet and you would like it cleaned every other week, we would recommend a 4 hour clean every other week.
A benefit of a timed cleaning service is that if you purchase a 4 hour clean, you have a cleaner in your home 4 hours. The homeowner can decide what can be cleaned during that time. If you want all the baseboards washed and all interior windows cleaned within that 4 hour timeframe, it can be done. If you just want the basic cleaning service performed – dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning of kitchen and bathrooms, that can be done as well. You’ve purchased the cleaner for 4 hours – you can decide what you would like the cleaner to clean during that time.
3. What if I’m not happy with a cleaning?
Please contact us immediately, within 24 hours of your home cleaning, so that the situation can be rectified.
4. What kind of experience do you have?
Albany Home Cleaning was created by Katie Whitt, an employee of a company called DWM, Inc. Facilities Maintenance. DWM manages facilities maintenance for retail stores nationwide. With 14 years of retail facilities management experience Katie has now entered the residential cleaning industry.
Katie was born and raised in Albany and understands the busy lifestyle of many homeowners in the area. With a full time job and three kids of her own, housework was last on her priority list. When she created this business, she had herself in mind as the typical customer.
5. What if I only need a few of my rooms cleaned?
That’s not a problem! If you have a signed agreement with Albany Home Cleaning you can choose what you want cleaned in your home for the amount of time that the cleaner is there. If you do not have a signed agreement and only want a one-time cleaning, that is $250 + tax for a cleaner to be in your home for up to 4 hours.
6. What if I need my entire home cleaned?
If you have a signed agreement with Albany Home Cleaning you can choose what you want cleaned in your home for the amount of time that the cleaner is there. If you do not have a signed agreement and only want a one-time cleaning, that is $250 + tax for a cleaner to be in your home for up to 4 hours.
7. Do you offer detail cleanings?
Yes, if you have a signed agreement with Albany Home Cleaning, you can substitute your regular cleaning with a detail cleaning. Please understand that the cleaner will only be in your home for the agreed amount of time. If you need the cleaner in your home for additional time it is $60 + tax per hour.
If you do not have a signed agreement with Albany Home Cleaning, our deep cleanings are priced based on square footage, how frequently your home is cleaned, the number of people living in your home, and the number of pets in your home. Please call or email for details and scheduling.
8. What kind of products do you use?
We use a variety of products appropriate for home cleaning such as Pine Sol, Scrubbing Bubbles, and Pledge. Spec sheets are available to anyone interested. If you would like to use a specific product in your home, please leave it out on the counter for the cleaner to use.
9. Do homeowners need to provide anything for the cleaners?
Not unless you want to! If a homeowner would like to provide a self-wringing mop in good condition we will use that mop. Otherwise, we will use our mop with cleaning pads. If a homeowner would like the cleaner to use a specific product, we ask that it be left on the counter for the cleaner to use.
